Matt Hasselbeck - Indianapolis Colts v Tennessee Titans

Hasselbeck with the Titans in 2012

After 2 seasons with the Tennessee Titans the team has announced that they have released quarterback Matt Hasselbeck from the roster.

Matt Hasselbeck was entering his final year of his contract with the Tennessee Titans and was going to be paid the big bucks by the time the season came. Matt Hasselbeck was due a total $ 7.5 million dollars in 2013.

With Matt Hasselbeck out and Jake Locker is the full-time starting quarterback, the big question being right now is who will be serving as Locker’s backup quarterback ? The Titans currently have 2 backup quarterbacks on the roster that they can go with 3 year backup Rusty Smith and Titans newcomer Nathan Enderle. A third option is that the Titans can look into the draft in April and see who is available in the later rounds in the draft.

As for Hasselbeck in 2013 he will be looking for a new home and their are already reports that a total of 10 teams are interested in signing the veteran quarterback. More on the news is to come, keep checking in with us for more info.
