The Oakland Athletics have announced that they have released starting pitcher Garrett Olson earlier this morning.
The Athletics this past November signed Olson to a minor league contract with a invite to the teams Spring Training camp. Olson who is 29 years old has been bounced around from team to team since he came to the league in 2007 with the Baltimore Orioles but now he will be on a journey to get back into the majors. Olson was granted his release by the team due to a team in Korea offered him a contract to come to Korea and pitch for their team.
Garrett Olson during Spring Training has only appeared in 5.0 innings for the Athletics and seemed that he was going to be demoted to Triple-A camp soon. Olson who is 29 years old will now work his way back to the Major League level’s but 1st its a stop in Korea and that is a great place to start for him.
