Marlins Jeff Mathis Out 6 Weeks

Bad news coming out from Florida today, Miami Marlins starting catcher Jeff Mathis has sustained a broken collarbone and will be sideline for about 6 weeks.

Jeff Mathis sustained the collarbone injury when St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday fouled the ball of the chest protector and with the force of the ball it was able to break his right clavical.

With Mathis on the shelf the Miami Marlins now grow more weak at the catchers role. The team will now be looking at catchers Rob Brantley and Kyle Skipworth.
