About a little while ago former UFC Lightweight fighter Jacob Volkmann has announced that he has been cut from the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Jacob Volkmann has been with the UFC since late 2009 when he was signed from Bellator FC in the Spring of 2009. Volkmann has competed against the vary best in the lightweight division. When he entered the UFC he had a tough couple of bouts not securing wins against Paulo Thiago & Martin Kampmann but he was able to rebound and begin a 5 bout winning streak where he defeated fighters such as Edwin Escurdero, Danny Castillo, Antonio McKee, Paul Kelly and Ronys Torres.
But in his latest bout against UFC lightweight new-comer Bobby Green Volkmann lost to Green via a rear-naked choke which did his UFC career in. Volkmann has a overall record of 7-4 in the UFC and a career overall MMA record of 15-4. With the releasing of Volkmann this could give him the opprotunity to go back to his roots in Bellator and work his way back to the UFC.
But until then everybody here at the Nation Sports Blog wish Jacob Volkmann nothing but the best in his future in Mixed Martial Arts.
