Michael Bourn has agreed to a four-year, $48MM deal with the Indians, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. Bourn is still pending a physical, but he has been on of the “big” names in the free agency market this off-season and has now found a home in Cleveland. Bourn is a 30 year-old all-star and still has some years left in him. He will bring some great speed, and a great defender out in the outfield.
He does sign just in time for Spring Training and looks to meet with his new team and see what his skills can bring to the Indian organization. Batting almost exclusively in the leadoff spot with the Braves last season, Bourn hit .274 with a .348 on-base percentage. He hit nine homers and had 57 RBI. I think that this is a great step for the Indians and could bring some more wins to the town of Cleveland.
