According to David Skretta of the Associated Press, Miguel Tejada has signed a 1 year 1.1 million dollar minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals.
The 38 year old Miguel Tejada did not appear in the Major League’s last season but had a short stint in the minors with the Baltimore Orioles Triple-A affiliate Norfolk Tides. Tejada played in 36 games with the Norfolk Tides, Tejada batted .259 with no home runs and 18 RBI’s.
Lots of rumors struck earlier last week that the rebuilding Miami Marlins had interest in the 38 year old short stop but the rumors quickly died down and nothing really came to the plate.
As more news come from media outlets about he full extent of the contract it is reported that Tejada’s contract amount is not guaranteed and also the contract will allow Miguel to compete during Spring Training for a spot on the Kansas City Royals main roster.
