According to ESPN’s Marc Stein the Dallas Mavericks is expected to waive Derek Fisher.
The waive is coming at request from Derek Fisher who has been battling a knee injury this season. Derek Fisher spoke to the press on Saturday and announced that he has sustained a patellar tendon and that he could be back to full strength in about 2 weeks.
With Fisher being waived this opens the door up for former Indiana Pacer and off season acquirement Darren Collison to come in a have the everyday point guard duties for the rest of the basketball season.
Fisher who came to the Dallas Mavericks 9 games ago displayed great offense. Fisher averaged 8.6 points per game and averaged 3.6 assists. It could seem likely that this could be Fisher’s last team in the National Basketball Association.
