Nationals Acquire Denard Span From Twins

According to Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com the Washington Nationals acquire Minnesota Twins outfielder Denard Span in exchange for right handed pitcher Alex Meyer. 

Span began his career with the Minnesota Twins back in 2002 when he was drafted by the team in the 2002 MLB Draft. In the 5 years he has spent in the Majors with the Minnesota Twins Denard Span has a career .284 average with 23 home runs and 23o RBI’s.

With Denard Span joining the Washington Nationals he will be the Nationals starting center fielder with Bryce Harper likley going to be moving to left field and Michael Morse to 1st base if the Nationals are not able to reach an new contract agreement with Adam LaRoche.
