The Miami Marlins are now undergoing their re-building phase in the organization and they started this process by signing former Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Juan Pierre.
This will be Juan Pierre’s 2nd stint with the Marlins since 2003 where himself and then teammates Josh Beckett and Ivan Rodriguez help lead the then Florida Marlins to a World Series championship over the New York Yankees in the 2003 World Series.
He is now back and a bit older now which will give a lot of veteran leadership in the batting order for this very young Miami Marlins team. This move could possibly put him as the teams starting center fielder due to the trade with the Blue Jays that sent Emilio Bonifacio to the Jays late last week.
Last season Juan Pierre spent the year with the Philadelphia Phillies serving as their backup left fielder and saw a lot of time playing in 130 games and in the 130 games he hit .307 with 1 home run and 25 RBI’s.
