The Toronto Blue Jays continue to add all stars to this top to bottom batting lineup, the Blue Jays announced today that they have agreed to terms on a 2 year 15 million dollar contract with former San Francisco Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera.

(Melky Cabrera)

This past season Melky Cabrera had one of his best seasons. He went to the 2012 MLB All-Star Game and won the All-Star Game MVP award. Everyone was thinking this Cabrera’s break out season but on August 15th 2012 Melky tested positive for high levels of testosterone by using performance enhancing drugs. Cabrera was then suspended from the San Francisco Giants for 50 games. After his 50 game suspension was lifted right after the Giants come from behind division series win the Giants activated him but did not add him to the teams NLCS roster or World Series roster.

Before his suspension last season Cabrera hit a high .346 with 11 home runs and 60 RBI’s. With the addition of Melky Cabrera to the Blue Jays it seems more likely that he will be the teams starting left fielder as up and coming Blue Jays left fielder Anthony Grose serves as his backup.

The 2012 World Series champions heading into this off season had alot of outfielders who are hitting the market Hunter Pence and Angel Pagan. With Melky gone it leaves the Giants with the lack of depth in the out field, the Giants have to get  to Angel Pagan and Hunter Pence before they sign some where else.
